James A. Harris, III “Tripp” - Aviation Specialist, Atlanta (770)-932-7624
Tripp is a co-owner of J&H Insurance Services, and has been in the insurance industry for 22 years, 19 years of which have been dedicated to the aviation insurance industry. He has spent a year working in the London Aviation Insurance marketplace (Alexander Howden), and the other 10 years with Marsh’s Aviation Practice as a Vice President, where he was responsible for handling variety of aviation accounts throughout the Southeast. He then spent an additional three years as a Vice President with the Aviation Practice of Wachovia Insurance Services. During that time, he specialized and developed aviation insurance and risk management programs across all aviation product lines (corporate aircraft, charter operators, airports, aviation ground-handling services, aviation products liability, etc.) for many accounts with aviation exposures. Tripp is responsible for new business production, marketing and servicing of aviation accounts.
Tripp has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Aviation from Auburn University. He also has his Private Pilot’s License, and he served in the Alabama and Georgia Air National Guard as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist on the F-16 and F-15 aircraft.

Jim is also a co-owner of J&H Insurance Services, and has been in the aviation insurance industry for 43 years. In 1970, Jim began his aviation insurance career as an aviation underwriter for the Royal Globe Insurance Company, then working for Southern Marine and Aviation Underwriters, and finally at Southeastern Aviation Underwriters (now known as AIG Aviation) in 1978. Jim retired from AIG Aviation as an Executive Vice President responsible for Airline Underwriting in 2003. During his career at AIG Aviation, Jim worked on various lines of aviation insurance including airports, helicopters, aviation products, corporate aircraft, and major airlines. In 2003, Jim started his own aviation insurance agency, Alston Insurance Agency, which is now known as J&H Insurance Services.
Jim has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University. He is a retired Lt. Colonel from the Alabama Air National Guard. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator in the KC-135 aircraft refueling tankers during the Vietnam War, and completed his military career as a Weapons Systems Officer on the F-4 aircraft with the Alabama Air National Guard.
